A plain-language legal document helper
Use the Legal Document Helper to ask general legal-information questions, understand text from a letter or notice, organize the facts you provide, or prepare a routine draft for your own review. It is not a lawyer, does not represent you, and does not verify current law or legal sources.
What can you ask it to help with?
- Explain legal wording: paste text from a notice, letter, or form and ask what the wording appears to say.
- Organize information: turn facts you provide into a clearer timeline or list of questions to discuss with a qualified professional.
- Prepare routine correspondence: request an editable, non-binding draft such as a neutral request for clarification.
- Ask a general question: describe what you are trying to understand; include the relevant country, state, or region if you know it.
It cannot verify whether a document is authentic, determine your rights, recommend a legal strategy, or confirm a deadline. It does not search current statutes, court rules, or official sources, and it must not be treated as legal advice.
Text privacy and TurboCloak
- You choose what to submit. This tool accepts typed or pasted text only. It does not accept images or file uploads.
- Supported patterns are redacted in memory. After you consent, text reaches the OpenWebStore backend; TurboCloak replaces supported personal-data patterns before the configured AI provider receives the request.
- Detection is limited. TurboCloak may miss names, street addresses, and other unsupported or context-dependent details. The AI provider receives the redacted text, but that text may still contain personal information.
- Detected values may appear in the response. A request-scoped vault can restore detected values in the returned response and is then discarded. OpenWebStore does not intentionally save the request or response; provider terms apply.
This TurboCloak protection applies to this text-only helper. OpenWebStore's image-based AI tools—Explain This image transcription and Closet Outfit Planner—do not currently use TurboCloak redaction. Their individual privacy notes explain their processing.
Frequently asked questions
What can the Legal Document Helper do?
Ask a general legal-information question, paste text from a letter or notice for a plain-language explanation, organize the facts you provide, or request a draft of routine non-binding correspondence. It does not tell you what legal action to take or prepare court filings or contracts.
Does it give legal advice or verify current law?
No. It is an AI information tool, not a lawyer or legal representative. It does not search or verify current statutes, court rules, deadlines, legal sources, or case outcomes. Check important details with an official court or government source or a qualified lawyer.
How does TurboCloak handle my text?
After you consent, text is sent to the OpenWebStore backend. TurboCloak redacts supported personal-data patterns in memory before the text is sent to the configured AI provider. A request-scoped vault can restore detected values in the returned response. Detection is not exhaustive; names, street addresses, and other unsupported details may not be detected. Provider terms apply.
Can I upload an image or use this privacy protection in image AI tools?
No. The Legal Document Helper accepts text only; it has no image upload or image input. OpenWebStore's image-based AI tools, including Explain This image transcription and Closet Outfit Planner, do not currently use TurboCloak redaction. Review each tool's privacy note before using it.
Does OpenWebStore store my legal question or document text?
OpenWebStore does not intentionally save this tool's request or response. The text is processed by the backend in memory for redaction and response generation; the configured AI provider receives the redacted text, and its processing and retention terms apply. Do not submit details you do not need to share.
